3D Printer Sales Representative
Your Role At A Glance
The 3D Printer Sales Representative is a dynamic and results-driven member of the team. The role is mainly an outside sales position focusing on industrial level 3D printers (HP, Formlabs and Xact Metal). You will build and maintain lasting relationships with customers by understanding their needs and adding value to their work. The Sales Representative will manage communication between our vendors, upper management, and engineering teams, stay current with the 3D printing & additive manufacturing (3DP & AM) market and industry trends, as well as achieve organizational goals.
How You’ll Drive Success
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and prospect potential customers within assigned territory in various industries.
- Understand customer’s applications & convey how 3DP & AM fits those applications.
- Respond to lead inquiries from vendors and marketing activities.
- Generate demand through strategic outbound call campaigns.
- Negotiate and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with salesteam to develop effective sales strategies.
- Attend trade shows and industry events to expand the customer base.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and product developments to effectively position our offerings in the market.
- Actively promote company products, events, and thought leadership through professional social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook. Must be comfortable creating and sharing content to engage with the additive manufacturing community online.
Customer Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
- Conduct demonstrations and presentations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of 3D printers.
- Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
Customer Support
- Conduct discovery calls to uncover and solve problems for customers.
- Ensure seamless customer experience by providing pre and post-sales support to customers.
- Address customer inquiries and provide technical assistance as needed.
- Offer guidance on the use of 3D printers and related software.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline updates.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage customer interactions.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
- Provide feedback on market trends and customer preferences.
The Talents We’re Seeking
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent experience.
Required Skills
- 1 to 3 years of proven track record of success in sales, preferably in technology or 3D printing industries.
- Strong understanding of 3D printing, design, or 3D CAD highly preferred.
- B2B sales experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with customers at all levels. Clear, concise, and effective communicator.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools is essential. Must be able to analyze sales data, manage pipelines, and generate reports using formulas, pivot tables, and charts.
- Proactive ability to identify growth opportunities for the company.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Professionally persistent at managing multiple opportunities in a CRM.
