The Social Media voting on our 3D Printed Ornament Challenge ended last week and we are happy to announce the winners.

Congratulations go to . . .

Marcus Mitchell from New York – 1st Place
Marcus will receive a $500 Amazon gift card for his “Wishing You a Toyful Holiday” ornament design.

“My design was based on the classic children’s stacking rings toy. I wanted to design a functional, decorative and entertaining ornament; using a pun “Wishing You A Toyful Holiday.” After speaking to a friend in the “design” world and sharing my design, he said that he liked how I incorporated something functional into a decorative piece. I would also like to thank my family, friends and work colleagues whom voted for me from distant places including the United Kingdom and New Zealand.”

Dario M ( Dm.enginerring ) from Italy – 2nd Place
Dario will receive a $200 Amazon gift card for his unique moving bell inside of a circular ornament design.

“I wanted to design a holiday ornament that could show the true potential of 3d printing. The Bell in Ball ornament has been designed to show that 3D printed parts can be made to have moving parts with complex shapes with one print and without assembly. Inside the ball, both the bell and the clapper can move freely. I had a lot of fun designing this ornament.”

In addition to the gift cards, Cimquest will be printing both of these winning designs and the actual printed ornaments will be delivered to the winners before the holidays. Thanks to all that participated, to those that designed parts, and to those that voted. We wish you all very happy and healthy holidays!
