SWUGNYC

The next SolidWorks User Group for NYC (SWUGNYC) will take place at the Big Alice Barrel Room in Brooklyn on Tuesday (March 10th) from 6:30-9pm. The event will focus on networking and connecting with SolidWorks friends and partners. Short presentations will be provided by CADimensions, Makelab, Ultimaker and of course Cimquest. Pizza will be provided and there is a cash bar for those who want to join us for a drink and ask questions at the Ask the Experts table!

The SolidWorks User Group for NYC (SWUGNYC) has been in existence since 2011 and currently has over 800 members from around the Metro NY area. Most of the members come from Manhattan, the boroughs and Northern NJ but they also pull from Long Island and lower NY State. The group typically holds about 6 meetings a year, which is quite an accomplishment given the worldwide average for user groups is less than 2 meetings per year and they are totally run by volunteers. Another accomplishment is that they were recognized as SolidWorks User Group of the year in 2012. Some of the reasons for their success is that they strive to strike a balance of content that is appropriate for product designers and engineers as well as maintaining a level playing field for the reseller and partners who support them.

In addition to the networking, short presentations will be provided by CADimensions, Makelab, Ultimaker and of course Cimquest. Cimquest will present on the new ultrafast 3D printer from Nexa3D printer which is breaking speed barriers (print 1” vertical per 2-1/2 minutes) with quality that rivals injection molded parts. In addition to this latest addition to our portfolio; Cimquest will also be available to answer questions about HP, Desktop Metal, Rize and the Formlabs 3D printing platforms.
