Some of the Xpand3D sponsors will be giving presentations during the event. We would like to introduce you to them and give you a summary of what they will present. First up, Serge Viau, Sales Representative from CGTech. Serge has been with CGTech since 1999, first as a Technical Support Engineer then as Corporate Technical Support Manager. His current position is Sales Representative for Quebec and the Maritime Provinces. Serge began his career in 1987 at Bombardier Aerospace in the NC Programming Department working on the Challenger, the Regional Jet, and the Airbus 330/340 projects. In 1996, he left Bombardier for D3 Technologies in San Diego, California programming 5-axis parts for multiple aerospace companies. And in 1997, he began work at Northrop Grumman’s NC Programming Department programming 5-axis automated riveters until 1999 when he began his career at CGTech. Serge will be presenting . . .
Benefits of G-Code Simulation Integrated with Mastercam
NC program errors are a common cause of machine crashes. Machine simulation software can detect errors, potential collisions, or areas of inefficiency within the NC program.
Benefits of machine simulation include:
- Speed up the process from design to production
- Improve process efficiency
- Detect collisions and near-misses
- Eliminate costly repairs and delays due to collisions
- Increase safety
- Reduce new machine implementation time
VERICUT simulates real NC data on digital twin machines, enabling NC programmers to correct errors before the program is ever loaded on the CNC machine, thereby eliminating manual prove-outs. The Mastercam-to-VERICUT Interface integrates the two programs to help you create the most accurate and efficient NC tool path programs possible. The Mastercam-to-VERICUT interface (MCAMV) allows you to launch VERICUT directly from Mastercam. The interface utilizes Mastercam’s C-Hook technology to automatically transfer setup information including tools, tool paths, and stock location to VERICUT in their proper orientation. You also have the ability to transfer custom tool assemblies from Mastercam directly into VERICUT.
VERICUT verifies NC milling, drilling, turning, EDM, mill/turn, and Mastercam roll-die machining operations to detect errors without doing a manual prove-out. It also optimizes NC programs in order to produce more efficient tool paths that save time, produce higher quality surface finishes, and prolong tool life. VERICUT supports Mastercam NCI files and G-code data. The Mastercam and VERICUT processes run independently so you can create/edit a tool path while verifying or optimizing another.
