An ongoing series from the Mastercam R&D machine shop.

One of our Applications Engineers has been working on a reverse engineering project. He’s making a Turbo Elbow for a twin turbo V8 Monte Carlo with Mastercam and Verisurf.

The part was originally pie-cut sections of stainless steel tubing welded together, with mounting flanges welded on the ends.

Over the next few weeks he will be making this part from one piece with an optimized flow path using various 5-axis and dynamic toolpaths. Stay tuned for more updates and photos.
